The two take a closer look, but find Krabnagel who has it out for Alfred. The white chess queen fools Krabnagel in trying to eat her, but changes back to her chess piece form and makes Krabnagel break his teeth missing biting her. All this commotion wakes Anton and - likely - his visiting girlfriend up and he walks outside to see what is happening. Dolf then runs past him carrying some stolen antiques. Dolf is spotted by Alfred, but this causes Anton to confuse Alfred as a possible partner in crime to Dolf and Alfred flees away.<ref name="Ep12" />

			In the alternate retelling from [[De Droom van Alfred Jodocus Kwak]], this story takes place in the summer holiday, rather than in the winter. In this retelling Krabnagel is only visiting, because of the voice-over job and the need to get some food at Anton Snorman's mansion. 	The name the Plaspoelpolder was never mentioned in the show, but regularly mentioned in several Dutch books. It does not include the tree where [[Henk de Mol]] and [[Johan Sebastiaan Kwak]] meet. The tree and the Plaspoelpolder are also divided by the busy road. It contains mostly flat pastures, some canals and small ditches one could use a boat to pass through. It also includes the tree under which Johan's living clog is ~~mostly stationed during~~ the ~~[[Alfred J. Kwak Episode 1\|first episode]]~~.

	In 1989 [[Hans Bacher]] was tasked to make a variety of paintings to send to the studios in Japan for inspiration on how to draw the Dutch landscapes properly. Many of these ended up in the [[End Titles\|end titles]] of the [[Alfred J. Kwak\|animated series]]. Some of these depict very clearly what the Plaspoelpolder should look like.
