Tommy is the son of [[Bella Buldog]] and [[Marcel]]. As Marcel is usually out on his job as a sea captain, Tommy and his three brothers are mostly raised by Bella in [[Polderstad#Polderstad-Noord|Polderstad-Noord]]. When the family took in Bella's father [[Meester Bas Buldog]], the retired teacher, Bella suggested that he help Tommy with his school subjects.
