Margareet Tikker (or Margareth Tikker or Margret Tikker) is a character that was set to appear in Alfred J. Kwak's 52nd episode[2][3] , but the story of the episode was changed in production. Just like many unused character designs for episode 52, this character design was used for the book Wat wijzer met Alfred Jodocus Kwak. Her character design was based on Margaret Thatcher.[2]
Appearance
Margareet Tikker is a middle-aged grey-ish woodpecker in a green three-piece suit. She wears a big golden broach on her chest and similarly shaped golden earrings. She has exaggerated buck teeth, one of which is golden, and a huge bush of blonde hair. She wears a golden ring and is usually seen smoking a cigar.[3][4]
Personality
She comes across very suave and in controle and doesn't shy away from flaunting her riches, which also include a sizeable black car, with her initials on the vanity plate. She's also very sly as she uses Alfred Jodocus Kwak's outburst over sharing money and using teamwork during the International Business Corporation meeting to start working together with only the rich representatives.[4]
Storyline
When Alfred Jodocus Kwak visits the Groot Groot Waterlandse Bank to borrow money, he gets stuck in the revolving doors with the bank's director. Margareet Tikker breaks both of them out by pecking away the glass of the revolving door. The director vaguely accuses Alfred of him missing his meeting and runs off. Tikker mistakes Alfred for being the Groot Groot Waterlandse Bank representative and takes him in her big car to a International Business Corporation meeting where Alfred is told to await the end result of the ganzebord game the other representatives are playing. Alfred causes a stir by telling the countries to work together and share the wealth with lower income countries, however Tikker takes this opportunity to instead work together with the other wealthy countries and make eachother even richer.[4]
