Dor Hongerland (lit. "Barren Hungerland") is a fictional developing country mentioned briefly in the book De Droom van Alfred Jodocus Kwak.[1][2]
Notable features
Very little is known about Dor Hongerland, however Meester Bas Buldog's daughter Florence Buldog lives there with her two children, Bella and Basje and her husband, the third world doctor Albert.[2] According to Bas Buldog the people in this country live in similar states to how people lived in the middle ages in Polderstad.[3] Albert is involved in the construction of a small hospital and a water reservoir.[2] To keep in contact with Bas Buldog Florence regularly sends air mail through Pax de Postduif from Dor Hongerland to Groot Waterland.[4]
History
One old grandparent of Amanda de Vlinder originally came from Dor Hongerland, who flew over Droogland and Dorstland to arrive at Groot Waterland, where he stayed.[5]
