However, during his early attempts, his playing is notably unskilled. Later, when Alfred attends a Duckson concert with Winnie, the performer reveals that he came to Waterland in response to a fan letter—written by Winnie herself.

The group manages to escape together, and Prince Shallaman sets out to reunite with his true love, Princess Budor, who is the princess of Yale.

Inside the volcano, Alfred discovers a dragon capable of breathing fire that emits no heat. Together with Professor Buffon and a construction crew, they begin efforts to safely extract the dragon from the volcano. However, Dolf intervenes by purchasing the dragon from the Maharaja Nichilokopan and relocates it to the theme park for his own purposes.

Alfred assists Ollie de Ooievaar in his campaign to become the first elected president of Groot Waterland. Among Ollie's rivals are the wealthy banker Mr. Knox and Dolf. With his support dwindling in the polls, Dolf devises a drastic and dangerous plan he believes will secure him a guaranteed victory.

Alfred is invited by Professor Buffon to join him aboard the Sunshine on a journey to Twoland to investigate a mysterious epidemic. Upon arrival, Alfred is struck by the stark contrast between the wealthy north and impoverished south of the country, highlighting deep social and economic disparities.

Alfred and Hank use the Flying Mill to travel to the Moon to find the magical clown from mayor Milliel's dreams. After meeting the clown they bring back a magic violin to Mirrortown where Professor Buffon is studying the Mosons disease. However, before solving the epidemic Professor Buffon has an idea to solve the disparaties in Twoland.

Armed with the magic violin, Alfred confronts the king of Twoland, demanding that the kingdom’s wealth be fairly distributed between the rich and poor sides of the country—otherwise, he will withhold the cure for the epidemic. The king agrees to the terms, but as soon as Alfred stops playing the violin, he is betrayed and thrown into prison.

Grabby falls out of the sky right in front of Alfred's house, after being mesmerized by a rainbow. Not long after Professor Buffon arrives to try and persuade Alfred to join him on an expedition to the jungle of the Arlon continent to find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Hank and Grabby join them and the group sets off to the jungle to meet a friend of the Professor, Doctor Livingstone.

After being almost cooked alive Alfred, Professor Buffon, Hank, Grabby, Doctor Livingstone and Janola are introduced to her majesty Nora who shows them the pot of gold under the rainbow. But when Alfred and the others wake up the next day, the pot of gold is gone, and so is Grabby.

Professor Buffon has tasked himself with making a new carfuel that won't cause acid rain. When Rocodile finds out, he sends Hippopotamus to Morena to find Dolf to make sure Professor Buffon's fuel project does not endanger the continued existence of Rocodile's fuel companies.

Alfred completely forgets a date with Winnie and the two have a big fight. Meanwhile, Geppe helps Dolf break out of prison and his first act is to break into Professor Buffon's lab to steal his new invention, the Alpha-langle Ray. When Winnie incidentally comes by as Dolf has broken in, he takes her as a hostage and tells Professor Buffon that he will flee abroad.
