A substantial part of the adventures of Alfred Jodocus Kwak are told through books, rather than through the animated series or the theater plays. Many episodes of the animated series have also been retold and/or expanded in this medium. The franchise even began as an idea for a picture book when Annet Kossen and Herman van Veen started considering a partnership.[1][2][3] Books for Alfred J. Kwak are still being produced to this day, even decades after the series was on television, in various languages.

Notes

  1. In De wonderlijke avonturen van de eend Alfred Jodocus Kwak: Goedemorgen the first book Wat wijzer met Alfred Jodocus Kwak was retroactively made the 20th iteration in this series. Wat wijzer was based on episode 20 of the animated series, expanding on the story. While only 4 books were made, it seems like it was the intention to have all 52 episodes of the animated series into an expanded Wat wijzer book. The other two releases, however, were parts 53 and likely, although generally unnumbered, 54.
