Alfred J. kwak - Liefde 1 (lit: Alfred J. Kwak - Love 1) is a DVD that was released in 9 September 2006 as part of the first wave of DVDs of the Alfred J. Kwak - Jouw vriend voor het leven series. It contains episodes 1, 2 and 3 of the animated series. The DVD features no subtitles, no alternative audio tracks and no special features. In terms of content it is nearly identical to De Verjaardag Van Alfred (DVD), except that less compression artifacts are visible[cn 1]. It was also sold together in the 3 DVD collection set Liefde - 3 DVD BOX.

De eieren
Op een mooie lentedag wordt Johan Eend door Henk voorgesteld aan Anna van de Polder. De twee worden smoorverliefd en al snel legt Anna eieren. Johan en Anna zijn Henk erg dankbaar en dus besluiten ze het eerste eendje dat uit het ei komt te vernoemen naar de overgrootvader van Henk, 'Alfred'.
On a beautiful spring morning Johan Duck is introduced to Anna van de Polder by Henk. The two fall deeply in love and it isn't long before Anna has laid eggs. Johan and Anna are very grateful to Henk and so they decide to name their firstborn duckling after Henk's grandfather, 'Alfred'.
Het verjaardagsfeestje
Wanneer de ouders, broertjes en zusjes van Alfred omkomen bij een auto-ongeluk ontfermt Henk zich over het kleine eendje. Henk nodigt alle buren uit voor Alfred's eerste verjaardag en organiseert een busreis naar het Koninklijke Paleis. Als de robijn van de Koning wordt gestolen, wordt Alfred verdacht van deze diefstal.
After the parents, Alfred's brothers and sisters die in a car-accident Henk takes the small duck under his wing. Henk invites all the neighbors for Alfred's first birthday and organizes a bustour to the King's Castle. When the ruby of the King is stolen, Alfred is suspected of this theft.
Het kroonjuweel
Alfred moet door zijn misdaad voor het gerechtshof verschijnen. Henk en zijn vrienden weten dat Pikkie de Ekster de robijn heeft gestolen, maar kunnen de koning niet overtuigen van Alfred's onschuld. De enige die Alfred nu nog kan helpen is de dief zelf...
Alfred has to stand trial for his crime. Henk and his friends know that it's Pikkie who stole the ruby, but can't convince the king of Alfred's innocence. The only one who can Alfred now is the thief himself...
