===Language and Regional Variations===
===Continuity=== | |||
* Several characters can be interpreted as being parents of characters later in the show. We see Dolf's parents as well as likely the fathers of K. Rokodil and Hannibal Nijlpaard. The two kemphanen also seem to resemble the older Hannes and Wannes. This is brought into question as Hannes and Wannes are brothers, but could be explained as the character looking like an older Wannes could be the father of the character that was originally called Hans de Gans, but was called Wannes in the series, making this originally two different characters.
* Any character that was depicted as a parent of characters from later in the show must also have emigrated to a similar place in Groot Waterland as either a reaction to the construction of the theme park, or due to other reasons.
===Cultural references===
===Errata=== | |||
* In the original script by Herman van Veen, a longer period—spanning several weeks—passes between the start of the theme park's construction and the Kwak family's departure. However, in the televised episode, it appears as though the construction team completes a significant portion of the park in just one day. This is evidenced by the presence of a large tent and a robotic gorilla that frightens Alfred, suggesting an accelerated timeline in the adaptation.

In the original outline written by Herman van Veen, the episode ends right after Alfred's family was run over by a car.[1] This was later changed to happen in Episode 2. There are many minor changes between the original script and the final episode, but the biggest changes include:

For this episode 21 characters were designed by Harald Siepermann and Hans Bacher, based on the script outline by Herman van Veen. Several other characters appear, for example Dolf's mother. Also a character design for a very young Hannibal Nijlpaard appears here, who at some stage of the production might've been part of the story.
