Do, Re and Mi Lano are three poodle brothers who work in the King's castle as cooks.[1][2] They are also seen serving the head of state at the castle.[3][4]
Appearance
Do is the shortest of the trio. Re is the heavyset brother. Mi is the tallest of the three. All three of them have blue fur and are depicted as poodles with a Continental or Lion clip, although Mi is the only one to have poms on his wrists. The characters are depicted as stereotypical Italian cooks, as can be seen by their red scarfs, and Toque blanche type of hats. They are also shown making spaghetti and Mi Lano's name references the Italian spelling of Milan.[5]
Personality
They seem to be quite adept at teamwork as shown through their elaborate routine making spaghetti. They are always smiling, even when they are being rushed by their superiors.[4]
Storyline
Do, Re and Mi Lano work at the King's castle in the kitchen as cooks. They are also seen serving food and drinks to the head of state at the castle. This likely means that the castle's staff is independent from the monarchy. Specifically Re Lano is seen serving cheese to emperor Dolf, during his authoritarian reign of the castle. Snuif de Muis had snuck in between the two pieces of cheese to assault Dolf. It is unknown whether or not Re Lano was in on Snuif's plan.[3][4]

Production background
Their character sheet was made in June of 1988 and their sheet numbers are 29/2, 30/2 and 31/2.[1] The sheet shows them appearing in episodes 2 and 3, as well as in the final episode of the Crow Party arc meaning that Re Lano's appearance in that episode was planned at the episode outline stage. The character sheet has not officially been released in any capacity, but it can briefly be seen in the documentary Wie wird eine Ente zum Fernsehstar? - Die Entstehung der Zeichentrickfigur Alfred J. Kwak.
Do, re, and mi are named after the first three syllables of the solfège system, used to represent successive notes of a musical scale. Mi Lano's name is likely in reference to Milano, the Italian spelling of the city of Milan.
